FEAL conquers new markets and invests in the expansion of production in BiH and the region.
Last year, FEAL installed a new 35 MN pressing line, which is now operating at full capacity. This investment of 21 million KM, together with the completion of the new facility at Cern, marked the 2023 business year, but it did not end the investment cycle.
Construction of a new plant in Croatia is underway, which will bring 100 new jobs, and the company told eKapija that FEAL Croatia can produce the total amount of aluminum profiles needed by the Croatian market next year.
New plant near Ljubuški
The new factory should be completed by the end of this year, and in full operation from 2025.
On a plot of land of 17,000 m2, in the immediate vicinity of the existing production facilities in Široki Brijeg, a hall for a new production facility and a part of a warehouse with modern profiles was built last year. The power of the installed press is 35 MN and is mainly intended for the industrial range of products. "This new facility allows us to improve production processes and meet the growing needs of our customers. The value of the entire investment, including facilities, infrastructure and production line, was 21 million KM. In addition to the successful installation of the pressing line, work on the new facility in Cerno near Ljubuški was also completed last year.
"It is intended for machining profiles and manufacturing prefabricated aluminum substructures for solar power plants, as well as parts for them. It is equipped with a robotic station for welding metal products and a laser for cutting and engraving sheets of aluminum, steel and other non-ferrous metals," FEAL said. The investment value of the plant in Cerno (facilities, infrastructure and production line) was 11 million KM.
FEAL has been successfully operating for almost 50 years and has been expanding its activities regionally, and around 80% of its production is being placed on foreign markets. They currently employ 750 people and specialize in designing aluminum systems and further processing of aluminum.
"So far, we have developed more than 45 construction systems for windows and doors, sliding and facade systems, winter gardens, partition and fence systems, sun protection, and purpose-built profiles. The production capacities of the FEAL company with the current six presses are continuously expanding, and currently amount to 80,000 tons. In addition to Bosnia and Herzegovina, we also have branches in Croatia, Austria, Germany, Serbia and Montenegro," they point out for eKapija.
FEAL Group also operates in the field of renewable energy sources. The 36 MW Jelovača wind farm has been in operation since 2019, and this year the 28 MW Zvizdan photovoltaic power plant in Ljubuški was put into operation, and the new 73 MW Tušnica wind farm is under construction.
"The challenges we face, like many other industries, is the lack of a sufficient number of qualified workers in production. However, we are confident that the situation will improve over time by increasing the satisfaction of our employees and continuing to invest in their development and training - they say.
Completed cycle
The expansion of production capacity continues with the opening of a brand new production plant in Karlovac.
"This seventh press completes the two-year investment cycle of the Feal Group in expanding production capacities, which will bring our total maximum capacity to 85,000 tons per year. The new factory in Karlovac will have a press with a strength of 18 MN, which will have a plant for pressing, plasticizing and mechanical processing of construction profiles for the needs of the Croatian market and beyond - FEAL says. Construction work on the facility has been completed, and the installation of equipment in the production facility is underway. The planned start of production is the end of this year
